A Minnie Mouse Airplane

Lately I’ve been napping a lot. I go to my room, shut the door, turn out all the lights, and sleep. It could be because I’m sick, depressed, or maybe just tired, who knows.

My daughter has figured out that when mommy isn’t in the living room, she’s probably in her bedroom. The only hallway in our apartment is straight and leads right to our bedroom door. Ryann gets her Minnie Mouse airplane walker and walks as fast as she can towards my door and hits it with her airplane until the door bursts open (we have really low quality doors apparently haha). Keep in mind, my daughter is only one year old. The room is pitch dark but she doesn’t care. She babbles out to me and feels her way towards our bed, pops her head up and says “Heyyyy” in the cutest way ever while stretching both arms out to me.

Today, like any other day, this scenario played out. However, this time when my daughter was hitting our door with her airplane, I heard the Lord speak. He said “You can close all the doors, but I will bust them wide open. You can sit in darkness, but I will walk through it to find you. Just as your daughter is happy to see you, so will I be. Just as she calls and reaches for you, so will I. There is no barrier strong enough to come between us. For I am faithful and my love endures.”

I don’t write on here as much as I should. I think in some of last blogs I’ve made I apologize for my inconsistency. I struggle with it a lot. But today I felt the Lord tugging on my heart to share this experience with you.

I created the barriers between me and God. I built the walls! And He wanted to remind me that it doesn’t matter. He still cares and wants me close. No matter what you’re going through or where you stand in your walk with Christ, He wants you to know that He is faithful and His love endures. He will break through every barrier to be by your side because you are worth it to Him. His love is greater than our circumstances, our sins, and everything from A to Z and back. He will light up the dark, call for you and reach out with open arms.

Romans 8: 38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
